Family members, friends, well-wishers and associates of the General Overseer of Church of Salvation, Ilasamaja, Lagos State, Rev’d. Dr. Imeh Samuel Ekwere will converge on Aggey Hall, CKC, Ilasamaja on Saturday (July 20) as he marks his 80th birthday.
Dr Ekwere, who expressed excitement over the celebration, said that the event was meant to appreciate the Almighty God, who kept him alive to see this day, adding that he looked forward to more glorious years.
Speaking on behalf of the family, one of the sons of the celebrant, Mr Aniefiok Ekwere, said in an interview that it is their intention to celebrate their father, Reverend Dr Imeh Ekwere in a special way this year.
“We want to use this programme as an opportunity to thank God for keeping his life and not just keeping his life, but for making him have a life that impacted people, not just members of his immediate family, but many people outside his immediate family circle.
“He has been a committed church man, in fact he is a church leader and for many years through the instrumentality of the church, God has used him to be a blessing to many people both within and even outside our environment and our country.
“We have been celebrating birthdays for him for many years, especially within our church and family, but this time around as a clocks that landmark age, we felt that as a family we need to make time to thank God because he has been a man that has gone through so many adversities and tough times,” he said.
Ekwere added that God has helped their father to make a way even in difficult situations, saying that God has been his shining light.
He said this was why they just wanted to use the occasion to celebrate that, adding that: “It’s supposed to be a family event, a simple but very impactful and event, where they draw people outside and within the church circle to come and join them as they celebrate God,” he said.
He however, revealed that the ministry has branches in Abule Egba, Uyo and other parts of the country with the headquarters in Ilasamaja
