Ghana, currently in search for a new coach after Milovan Rajevac was fired in January following the Black Stars’ disastrous performance in the just ended Africa Cup of Nations.
The Black Stars finished bottom of the group and lost to debutants Comoros Islands in their decisive final game to crash out of the tournament.
Paintsil however noted that Coach Kwesi Appiah is the best fit for the interim Black Stars coaching position.
“There’s no time at all on our side, I think they should appoint a coach who’s seen it all, Coach Kwasi Appiah is one of the coaches who can handle the Ghana and Nigeria game”, he said on GTV Sports.
Former Brighton boss Chris Hughton is reported to be the front runner for the Black Stars job.
Last month in Cameroon, CAF held a draw for the final playoffs with the Black Stars and the Super Eagles expected to fight for just one ticket to Qatar 2022.
