Among the myriad categories, the American Film Awards honour excellence in Best Action Film, Best Romantic Film, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Nollywood Film, Best Asian Film, and many more. Dr Frank Ezenekwe, the visionary founder of these awards, has expressed, “For the last 17 years, we have nurtured and championed the idea of celebrating the finest films of the year. Some years bring us cinematic gems, while others are marked by political statements. In some years, filmmakers find themselves at odds with the mainstream, but regardless of the circumstances, the excitement of a new and exceptional film remains constant. It’s the dimming of the lights, the previews, the aroma of freshly popped popcorn. We do this for the sheer love of cinema, putting a spotlight on your films and celebrating them with the passionate fans who share our love for the cinematic experience.”
