Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal have made a world record €300m (£259m) bid for Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe and have been given permission to talk to the player.
The official bid was made over the weekend, although there is still a payment schedule to be agreed between the clubs and there is no agreement reached over personal terms with Mbappe.
PSG are keen to sell the 24-year-old this summer as he has just one year to run on his contract and has already confirmed he does not intend to stay beyond 2024, despite having the option to extend his deal by a further year.
The Ligue 1 side would likely be delighted to accept the enormous bid from Saudi Arabia, however, the France international may prefer to pursue a move to Real Madrid or another European giant.
With the forward available for sale, or even a loan, there has been plenty of interest in his signature from across Europe, including the Premier League.
Along with the world record transfer fee, there will also be an enormous contract offer from Al Hilal, though, which will try and tempt Mbappe to Saudi Arabia.
CBS reported that the offer from Al Hilal to Mbappe will be for €700m (£605m) over just one year, after which he would be free to move on to Real Madrid if he wanted to.
