by Our Reporter

Manchester United have officially sacked Mason Greenwood from returning to the first team and will no longer play for the Red Devils.
The forward was charged with sexual abuse and domestic violence and was excluded from the team for several months.

Greenwood’s charges against him were dropped and was expected to return to the team pending an investigation by the club.

After several investigations, Man United released a statement saying he will return to the team and join up with the squad for the new season.

However, the announcement of Greenwood’s return has caused a lot of steer on social media which has led to the sudden change from the club.

As it stands, it has been confirmed that Greenwood will no longer be playing for Man United and will leave the club.

Man United statement

Manchester United have released a statement regarding the future of Mason Greenwood and has made a decision about his return to the club.

According to reports from Romano Fabrizio on Twitter, “Mason Greenwood will NO longer play for Manchester United.”

“United and Greenwood have mutually agreed that his future will be away from Manchester United following the conclusion of the club’s internal investigation.”

Man United also released a statement saying the club has concluded its internal investigation into Greenwood’s case.

According to the statement by the club, “Manchester United has concluded its internal investigation into the allegations made against Mason Greenwood.

“Our process commenced in February 2023, following all charges against Mason being dropped.

“Throughout, we have taken into account the wishes, rights and perspective of the alleged victim along with the club’s standards and values, and sought to collate as much information and context as possible.

“This has required us to proceed with sensitivity and care to obtain evidence not in the public domain, including from those with direct knowledge of the case.

Based on the evidence available to us, we have concluded that the material posted online did not provide a full picture and that Mason did not commit the offences in respect of which he was originally charged.

“That said, as Mason publicly acknowledges today, he has made mistakes which he is taking responsibility for.

“All those involved, including Mason, recognise the difficulties with him recommencing his career at Manchester United.

“It has therefore been mutually agreed that it would be most appropriate for him to do so away from Old Trafford, and we will now work with Mason to achieve that outcome.

Man United Chief Executive Officer Richard Arnold also released a statement on Mason Greenwood.

He made mention of the club finalising the investigation on the alleged Greenwood case and making their final decision on his return.

Manchester United have now said that Mason Greenwood will no longer be joining the squad as reported before and the player has agreed to the recent development.
