The singer and head of Marlian Records took to his social media platform X to announce that he has made the trip back to Lagos, Nigeria, to aid the investigation. The post, which was shared today, Tuesday, October 3, 2023, on X, read, “I’d like to share that I’ve just arrived back in Lagos, Nigeria to assist the authorities with the ongoing investigation. It’s important I do my part for Imole. I’ll be meeting with the police with hopes for the truth to be uncovered and for justice to prevail.”
The singer had initially released a statement where he denied all allegations and expressed his desire to work with the police in unravelling the circumstances surrounding the death of the late rapper. The statement, shared on his Instagram account on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, expressed his willingness to assist the police in getting to the bottom of the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s untimely demise.
In the post, Naira Marley vehemently denied being responsible for Mohbad’s passing, whether directly or indirectly. He acknowledged that the music industry, like many others, sometimes experiences conflicts among close associates, but he stated that he was innocent. He offered his condolences to the deceased and expressed the emotional impact of the situation on him.
