Tiwa Savage Postpones Concert Dates Due To Health Concerns

by Our Reporter

Global superstar Tiwa Savage has postponed the OVO Wembley Arena performance and all her tour dates which were originally scheduled for November due to health issues.

The award-winning artist is battling a vocal infection which led her to be on strict vocal rest for the foreseeable future. This decision does not come likely for the iconic artist given that 2023 has proven to be a prosperous year for her. The singer who performed at King Charles III’s Coronation Concert at Windsor Castle this year and released back-to-back hits like Gbese featuring Majeeed, NSV featuring Bella Shmurda, and Stamina which features Ayra Starr and Young Jonn made the announcement earlier today, Tuesday, October 17, 2023.

Tiwa Savage’s press statement via her social media platform, Instagram, stated, “To my dear Savage Solidiers, I have been fighting off a virus for the past few weeks and was today firmly instructed to be on strict vocal rest for the next few months”.

“I will unfortunaetly have to postpone all performances including my first ever headline show in London. I’m heartbroken and devasted but I have to do this to save what’s left of my voice. I’m so sorry . I love you all and promise to be back performing once I’m fully healed”

The Queen of Afrobeats was scheduled to headline at the OVO Wembley Arena on November 26th but due to a vocal virus, the performance has been postponed. This would have made her the first female Afrobeats artist to headline at the arena.

Tiwa Savage is not the first artist to take a health-related hiatus this year. Notable Drake took a break following health challenges with his stomach and Tems also cancelled a performance in 2022 due to health-related issues
