Chelsea’s defender, Thiago Silva has spoken about the possibility of his retirement, where and when he might decide to hang his football boots.
The Brazilian international was speaking in an interview with Sky Italy where he confirmed that he is getting closer to the end of his career. Thiago Silvasaid, where he would retire is also a big decision and his decision will be hinged on his family.
“The end of my career is getting closer. You’ve think about when you want to retire, where do you go as a final club, the family; my kids play at Chelsea. I’m just focused on enjoying my final year of contract at Chelsea. I don’t know what’s going to happen next.”
The 38-year-old also spoke about life at Chelsea under Mauricio Pochettino since the start of this season (2023/24).
“We have a new manager, we need time to improve. Under Poch we train stronger, we run more.”
Silva has been a key part of the Chelsea team since he joined the club during the 2020/21 season from PSG as a free agent. He won the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.
