Barcelona manager, Xavi Hernandez, has made it clear he has no plans to step down from the role.
According to him, they are “halfway to creating a great team..
Xavi was appointed by his former club as manager in November 2021 and led them to LaLiga title success last season and the Supercopa de Espana.
In September, the La Liga giants extended his contract until 2025, but Barca have struggled to recapture their best form.
While the Catalans have qualified for the knockout stages of the Champions League, they have lost four of their last nine matches and sit seven points off top spot in the league.
However, Xavi believes they can still be successful this campaign.
When asked if his time as the club’s manager had run its course, he replied: “No, no. At the end of the season, you look at where you are and what you have won. I am a positive person. We can still have a great season. Everything is still in play.
“Now is a moment for union and to believe more than ever in the project and these players. There is union with [sporting director] Deco, [president Joan] Laporta and [vice president] Rafa Yuste.”
