Serie A side AS Roma have swiftly appointed Daniele De Rossi as a replacement for Jose Mourinho who was recently sacked following a series of bad results.
De Rossi returns to the dugout as a manager after spending 18 years at the club. His first game will be against Verona on Saturday, January 19, 2024, at the Stadio Olimpico.
He made 616 appearances and scored 63 goals for the Giallorossi in all competitions, ranking second in the club’s all-time appearance record.
De Rossi won the Coppa Italia twice, in 2007 and 2008, along with one Supercoppa in 2007.
After retiring from football, De Rossi joined the Italian national team’s coaching staff, where he lifted the European Championship trophy on July 11, 2021, defeating England in the final at Wembley Stadium, before taking over as head coach of SPAL last season (2022/23).
