… Highlighting education as a key pilar in society
Staff and students of Comprehensive High School, Ikare Akoko had reasons to celebrate as their dilapidated school building now wears a new look.
Late last year, Mr. Adetunji Abdul, through his foundation, Adetunji Abdul Foundation, visited the school, one of the government secondary schools in the community, but was shocked at the dilapidated state of buildings and other infrastructures.
“I visited the school last year as part of the programme of the foundation to assist in the improvement of facilities in Ikare Akoko but what I saw at the school was astonishing. My team and I were deeply touched.”
“Thereafter, we undertook to renovate some block of classrooms and make it conducive for the students and their teachers. We know government cannot do everything at the same time, it is part of the Adetunji Abdul Foundations’ “Homework Initiative” to assist government, especially in Akoko, area” he said.
That promise has been fulfilled as Abdul was on hand to commission and hand over the renovated building and classrooms to the school.
“I thank God for this great opportunity to fulfill my promise. Last week, the Adetunji Abdul Foundation handed over the completed renovation projects to the school. Education is a fundamental pillar of society, shaping individuals and communities for a brighter future.” Abdul said.
The then principal of the school, who has now been transferred, Mr. Ajaguna Ojuolape, expressed appreciation to the Adetunji Abdul Foundation for helping to improve the aesthetics of the school and the donation of desks for the students.
“I would like to show my appreciation to the Adetunji Abdul Foundation. I want to use this opportunity to implore other well-meaning Nigerians and corporate bodies to emulate what Adetunji Abdul Foundation has done today,” the former principal said.
