After promising to return to the summit of women’s basketball in Nigeria, record winner of the Zenith Bank Women Basketball League, First Bank, has shown that they are the team to beat as they have won all their five games played so far in the Atlantic Conference of the competition currently going on at the Indoor Sports hall of the Akure Township Stadium.
First Bank so far have won all their five games, putting in jeopardy the chances of defending champion, MFM women basketball team in the conference after the Lagos-based side failure to win two of their games against Dolphins and Delta Force, with the two teams facing off on Sunday.
As it happened last year, Customs women basketball team showed why they are title contender this time around, as they have won all their five games in the Savannah Conference going on in Lafia, Nasarawa State, with the latest a 93-48 points defeat of Kada Angels on Saturday.
The first phase will end on Sunday across the two conferences with the teams hoping to make enough points to stand a better chance in the second round later this month.
