Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, announced at the weekend that President Bola Tinubu has approved the concession of four major international airport terminals: Murtala Muhammed International Airport (Lagos), Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (Abuja), Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport (Kano), and Port Harcourt International Airport (Omagwa).

During an inspection at the Lagos airport, Keyamo emphasized the plan to concession the international terminals to globally recognized operators.

He highlighted the importance of transparency in the process, stating that the government had halted a previous concession process due to complaints and legal challenges.

Under Tinubu’s leadership, Keyamo assured that the new process will be transparent and focused on finding the best partners to manage the airports.

Keyamo also noted ongoing improvements at the E-Wing of the Lagos airport aimed at enhancing customer satisfaction and curbing harassment and extortion.

He encouraged passengers to report any issues via QR codes and hotlines placed around the airport.

The Managing Director of FAAN, Olubunmi Kuku, affirmed the authority’s readiness for business but stressed the need for private sector investment to enhance airport infrastructure and develop new routes.
