The organisers of Lagos Women Run has named a former beauty queen, Ololade Ayelabola, as an Ambassador.
This was done after a meeting between the officials of the LWR and Ayelabola in Lagos at the weekend
Coordinator of the Lagos Women Run, Tayo Popoola, noted that the journey of Aiyelabola embodies perseverance and authentic passion for the fashion industry.
Popoola added that Ayelabola is a woman whose progress can inspire other women to be strong and be among the best in all endevours.
She said: “Her participation in prestigious competitions like Miss Unique and Most Beautiful Campus Queen Nigeria showcases not only her modeling prowess but also her ability to maintain academic excellence through disciplined time management.
“Ms. Ayelabola’s ambitious vision to set a Guinness World Record for the longest catwalk distance 130km in four days aligns perfectly with our brand values of pushing boundaries and inspiring others. Her feat is like trekking from Lagos to Ibadan.
“Her authentic approach to overcoming setbacks and her commitment to balancing professional pursuits with personal development make her an ideal ambassador who can effectively communicate our message of determination and excellence. Ayelabola’s values and aspirations strongly align with our brand identity.”
In her response, Ayelabola said: “I am proud to be one of the Ambassadors for the Lagos Women Run 2024. I just completed my attempt to break the Guinness world record for the longest distance walked on a catwalk by a model. The Lagos women run is an event that celebrates and inspire women from different walks of life, to encourage them to embrace physical fitness which translates to mental fitness and every aspect of their lives. You should catch me live at the Lagos women run 2024”
Meanwhile, plans are already in top gear for the 2024 edition of the Lagos Women Run slated for November 7.
