Sanwo-Olu urges women to embrace healthy life as LWR Expo starts Nov. 5

The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, is passionate about the health of women and all residents of the state as he charges them to embrace healthy living.

Speaking through the Director General of Lagos State Sports, Lekan Fatodu, Sanwo-Olu said it was important that the women have adequate awareness about their health.

The Governor said: “That health is wealth is not new but more importantly it is important to educate women as our mothers to embrace good healthy living and all round fitness.

“The Lagos Women Run is such avenue to make a bold statement on women and health and so we expect that they turn up to network, expose themselves further and also work on their fitness.”

Meanwhile, the exhibition and collection of kits starts from November 5 in Lagos.

The objective of the Lagos Women Run is to encourage women to embark on a journey towards fitness and general well-being, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). LWR aims to support and foster the growing fitness culture across the continent while addressing critical issues affecting women, such as No Poverty, Female Child Education, Zero Hunger, and Equality. This event provides a unique platform where women can unite, find common purpose, and raise their voices, using fitness as a rallying point. he week-long Exhibition (expo) provides a valuable opportunity for brands to connect with runners and customers. We are pleased to invite all female to participate in this 10km road race, promoting mutual benefits for women in society.

The EXPO offers a platform for skills and vocational training such as Basic Painting, Tie &Die, Skincare, Waste Management, Food Packaging, Cake Making. Fruit Juice Mixing, Basic Make Up, Basic Computer Training.

“We are putting everything in place to make this edition, the 9th in the series, a successful one,” Tayo Popoola, coordinator of LWR said.
