Prof. Yilwatda Nentawe, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Social Development, has been officially named the substantive National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The announcement was made by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, who leads the Progressive Governors’ Forum, during the ongoing 14th meeting of the APC National Executive Committee (NEC) held at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja.

The motion nominating Nentawe was seconded by Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, and the minister was sworn in immediately afterwards.

Prof. Nentawe took the oath of office at exactly 2:50 p.m., in the presence of key party stakeholders attending the NEC meeting.

Nentawe, a native of Plateau State in the North Central Zone, previously served as the APC’s governorship candidate in the 2023 elections.

“Prof. Yilwatda Nentawe takes the oath of office as the All Progressives Congress’ substantive National Chairman,” a statement from the APC confirmed.
