Uganda Cranes’ captain, Jordan Obita, has said they must beat the Super Eagles of Nigeria to secure their qualification to the next round of the Africa Cup of Nations currently going on in Morocco.

Nigeria already secured top place and a place in the Round of 16 after winning their first two games against Tanzania and Tunisia while Uganda, currently on one point after their draw and loss in their first two game will hope to make it four points and a place in the next round.

Speaking during the press conference on Monday, Hibernian of Scotland left-back said they always look forward to playing the best team and playing against the Super Eagles will serve as another opportunity to showcase what they can do as a team as they love the pressure coming with the game.

“There’s pressure in every moment and every day for every athlete. The pressure is good. That’s why we are all players,” he said.

“Obviously, Nigeria are one of the strongest teams. Every day I wake up, I want to play against the best players in the world. You know, in the World Cup, whatever tournament that you’re involved in, you want to play against the best.

“So, I’m looking forward to the game against Nigeria. And hopefully we can be the team that wins the game.

“We want to show everybody back home in Uganda that we can compete with the best nations in the world.

“We have to get the belief. If we match them toe to toe in the duels and also show quality on the pitch. Because if you don’t show quality, how are you supposed to have possession and show your true colors, show your belief and create chances.”
