NFF must keep Chelle, says Iwobi

Fulham FC midfielder, Alex Iwobi, has charged the Nigeria Football Federation to work towards retaining the services of current Eagles coach, Eric Chelle.

Iwobi stressed that Chelle has impacted so much on the players within a short time and it will certainly get better if he continues on the job

The Eagles star said: “He’s done a lot for us and the one thing the coach was demanding from us was respect. Of course, he wants to see you do well, he has to make his decisions and he can’t always please everyone.

“We all did well, there was no egos and everybody was working hard. Everybody worked hard plus the coach. I feel like the coach got respect from us because we worked hard and he worked hard as well. So, when he gave his last speech, he made us feel emotional and like we belong together. The NFF has to retain him in the interest of continuity and the bond we have built.”

Iwobi was exceptional in the competition by providing many penetrative passes and he was consistent all though to help in goal scoring.
