Xavi announced his intention to resign at the end of this term as he described the Barca job as “cruel”, he mentioned his concerns about his mental health and said, “At some point, you realise there’s no point in staying.” There have been a lot of changes when it comes to results at Barcelona since he made that announcement, as they have not lost a game across all competitions.
Laporta has continued to maintain his stand that there is a possibility that Xavi will remain at the club beyond this season. According to him, he feels the situation with Xavi can change as they will speak again when the season is over.
“I feel that the situation with Xavi is still open and can change. We will talk again at the end of the season.”
Barcelona are one step away from reaching the semi-final of the Champions League following their 3-2 win over Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg. If he leads them to winning the trophy for the first time in over a decade, there is a huge possibility that he will remain at Barcelona beyond this season.
