NPFL: Royal Rumble in Aba as Enyimba host Remo Stars

by Our Reporter

It is going to be a Royal Rumble at the Aba Township Stadium this weekend in the Nigeria Premier Football League when the record winner, Enyimba of Aba, faces off against Remo Stars in one of the MatchDay 11 of the 2024/2025 season.

Currently, at the top of the table, Remo Stars hope to cement their position while their opponents will be banking on the support of their home fans for the maximum points that will take them above the visitors. Enyimba currently occupies the third position on the log, three points behind their weekend opponent.

Bayelsa United will be banking on the performance of Ikorodu City against Rivers United last weekend when they inflicted a first defeat of the season to the Finidi George-led team as they seek to also end the Pride of Rivers’ unbeaten run at home.

Before last weekend, Rivers United occupied the top position with an unbeaten record, but everything ended in a 2-0 defeat against the baby of the league, Ikorodu City, and will quickly try their best to bounce back at home.

With two points on the road this season against Kwara United and Heartland, and home wins against Insurance, Lobi Stars and Rivers United, Ikorodu City will be looking forward to their first maximum points on the road against Katsina United.

Former international, Daniel Amokachi, will hope to get a home win with Lobi Stars against Abia Warriors, same as another Super Eagles star, Emmanuel Amuneke, who will be leading Heartland out at home against Sunshine Stars.

Other matches scheduled for this weekend will see Insurance at home against Kano Pillars with Akwa United travelling away to Niger Tornadoes.

Shooting Stars will be looking forward to ending El-Kanemi Warriors unbeaten when they play against each other in Ibadan with defending champion, Rangers travelling to Jos to keep a date with Plateau United as Nasarawa United play host to Kwara United.
