Hausa And Fulani Clash In Jigawa, 11 K!lled, 31 Houses Burnt

A devastating ethnic crisis has broken out in Gululu village, Jahun and Miga local government areas of Jigawa State, leaving at least 11 people d*ad and 31 houses burnt to ashes.

The incident, which occurred last Friday, has sparked tension in the community and raised concerns about the fragile peace in the region

According to eyewitnesses, the violence erupted after a fight between Hausa and Fulani communities, resulting in the senseless kill!ng of innocent people, including children.

Suleiman Abubakar Jahun, a Fulani elder, lost five of his children in the attack and is now left to care for his 18 grandchildren.

“I was at home when people informed me of a fight between Hausa and Fulani communities.
Upon arriving at the scene, I witnessed rampant kill!ngs, which were senseless and devastating,” Abubakar said, appealing to the government to provide assistance to the affected families.

Another victim, Amadu Garba Jahun, who lost his child, called for peace and justice, saying that the community does not seek revenge but wants the authorities to bring the perpetrators to book. “We’re not seeking revenge or wanting to take the law into our own hands. We just want the authorities to do their job and bring us justice,” Garba said.
