Police in Lagos have apprehended three suspects in connection with the brutal assault of a young woman accused of theft at a boutique on Lagos Island.
The Police Public Relations Office of the Lagos police command, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrests yesterday, assuring the public that efforts were ongoing to apprehend other suspects.
The incident, which has sparked outrage, occurred Sunday at a boutique reportedly identified as Don Maserati Classic Boutique, opposite Tantalizers on Lagos Island.
In a video, which has gone viral, the victim was seen being flogged by four men as she rolled on the ground, crying in pain.

The footage has drawn condemnation across social media platforms, with Nigerians demanding justice for the unnamed victim.
In response, Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Olanrewaju Ishola, assured residents that justice would prevail.
