Super Eagles Captain, William Troost-Ekong, is optimistic that the wealth of experience in the senior national team will be enough to see Nigeria through in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Ekong, speaking after the draw ceremony on Monday in Rabat, Morocco, said the Super Eagles have a solid bunch that will be ready for any opposition in the continental football showcase.
He said: “It is very exciting to see the new group; Tunisia, Uganda, Tanzania. Three teams that need to be respected. I think we have the experience now to know how to handle these situations. There is no such thing as an easy game in Africa and I stand by that.
“I believe that we have everything in our team to make sure that we come out and this time go all the way. We learnt something last year from the AFCON in Abidjan but this time we will be ready and working hard throughout the year to make sure everyone is fit and ready and everyone is looking forward to going under the new coach, Eric Chelle. I am very happy with the AFCON draw.”
