The Bafana Bafana of South Africa have qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup no matter the outcome of the match between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Cheetahs of Benin Republic.

As at the time of filing this report, both the Super Eagles of Nigeria and Bafana Bafana were leading their opponents by 3-0.

With the scoreline, the South Africans, who were playing Rwanda, had qualified for the World Cup.

Nigeria will be hoping for a play-off as one of the best four second-placed teams in Africa.

As at press time, Nigeria was number four on the log of the second-placed teams.

Gabon and Cameroon made it before the kick-off of the matches in Group C.

Also closing in for the second-placed teams are Burkina Faso and DR Congo.

If Nigeria gets more goals against Benin Republic, it would be number four on the log.

However, the match DR Congo will be playing later in the day will then be the determinant of who makes it between DR Congo and Burkina Faso and the position the Super Eagles will occupy.
