With a goal recorded in the 80th minute, Steve Manyo took Rivers United to the top of the ladder in the Nigeria Football Professional League.
It was a rescheduled match and the Garden City outfit took the opportunity with both hands to bag the three maximum points courtesy of Manyo’s goal against Barau FC.
Rivers now have 47 points from 24 matches and with three outstanding matches in the Kitty.
Ikorodu City with 45 points are now second on the table while Rangers and Nasarrawa United are third and fourth respectively with 44 points just as Abia Warriors now occupy the fourth position with 43 points.They have all played 47 matches.
With three outstanding matches in the Kitty, Rivers United could be coasting home as the champions of the NPFL for the 2025/2036 season.
