Commonwealth Games 2022: Amusan Inspires Team Nigeria To 4x100m Gold

Oluwatobiloba Amusan inspired Team Nigeria to first place in the women’s 4x100m relay at the Commonwealth Games on Sunday.

Amusan and the quartet of Rosemary Chukwuma, Favour Ofili and Nzubechi Nwokocha won the gold medals in a new African record of 42.10s.

Amusan, who also won women’s 100m hurdles with a new Commonwealth Games record on Sunday morning started the race for Nigeria.

England finished in the second position with a time of 42.41s.

Favourites Jamaica went home with the bronze medal.

The Nigerian quartet of Udodi Onwuzurike, Favour Ashe, Alaba Akintola and Raymond Ekevwo won the bronze medal in the men’s 4x100m relay finishing in a time of 38.81s.
