Neymar Speaks About His Ruptured ACL

by Our Reporter

The Captain of the Brazilian men’s national team, Neymar has reacted to the recent injury he suffered playing for the Samba boys.

Neymar expressed his sadness after he ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and meniscus in his left knee. This is the second major injury that he has suffered this year. The former Paris Saint Germain player missed the final months of the 2022-23 season after undergoing ankle surgery in March 2023.

However he could be out for a long time having just played five times for new club Al Hilal following the knee injury, which will require that he undergoes surgery.

Neymar expressed his disappointment on his official Instagram account on Thursday, October 19, 2023.

“It’s a very sad moment, the worst, I know I am strong but this time I’m going to need my family and friends even more. It’s not easy to go through injury and surgery, imagine going through it all again after 4 months of recovery.”

Neymar will hope he can get back to full fitness before the 2024 Copa America which takes place between June 20 and July 14, 2023, in the United States of America
