Pep Guardiola Explains His Reason For Substituting Erling Haaland At Halftime

Manchester City’s forward player, Erling Haaland was substituted after the first-half break by Pep Guardiola, which came as a shock to the fans at the Etihad and away from the Stadium.

The manager of Manchester City, Pep Guardiola has explained his reasons for taking out the Norwegian. According to him, Erling Haaland felt a twist in his ankle and they were not ready to take a risk by bringing him in the second half.

“Twist in the ankle. We didn’t want to take risks with him, he didn’t feel comfortable. He’ll be back maybe Tuesday, but maybe next Sunday.”
