Israel Ambassador Reports Plateau Massacre to UN Council

by Our Reporter

Israel’s Ambassador, Erlan Gidan, to the United Nations Council has raised concerns regarding the recent Plateau Massacre on Christmas, where 200 Nigerian Christians were reportedly killed by Muslims.

Parallel Facts report that, Erlan Gidan highlighted that over the past decade, 50,000 Christians in Nigeria have suffered similar violent attacks.

Gidan questioned the Council’s focus, noting that 1 million Muslims are being forcibly displaced in Pakistan, particularly the situation of 1.3 million displaced Afghans.

“As we speak, there are over 1 million Muslims being forcibly removed from their homes. I’m not talking about the situation in Gaza, but about Pakistan’s forced displacement of 1.3 million Afghans”.

This council met 21 times, mostly to support the Gaza population while Israel defended itself against terrorists from Hamas. However, Ambassador Erlan Gidan stated, “not even once to concentrate exclusively on defending the rights of Afghans in Pakistan.”

The envoy pointed out that there hasn’t been any particular focus on the forced relocation of Muslims in Pakistan and criticised the Council’s frequent talks on Gaza and Israel’s defence against Hamas terrorists. The ambassador suggested a biassed approach and attributed this disparity to what they see as a lack of attention unless the matter includes Jews.

Why is the Algerian delegate and the council indifferent to the forcible removal of Muslims from a Muslim nation?

200 Nigerian Christians were killed by Muslims on Christmas. In Nigeria, 50,000 Christians have been killed via butchering and hacking throughout the last ten years. Does the council even care about this? Again, Gidan declared, “No Jews, no news.”
