Lady In Abuja Hotel Ritualist Saga Speaks

by Our Reporter

The lady in the viral video, who was undressed and tied to a chair in a hotel room in Abuja, has shared her harrowing experience with a suspected Yahoo boy ritualist, Joseph Efe.

The 30-year-old suspect was paraded by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) FCT Command on Friday, September 20, 2024.

According to FCT Commandant Olusola Odumosu, Efe is known for targeting ladies through dating platforms referred to as “coded runs.” His method involves luring them, stealing their phones, and accessing their bank accounts to make illegal withdrawals.

During his confession, Efe admitted to meeting the lady on a “hookup site” before inviting her to the hotel.

The victim, Olivia Ijeoma Chukwuemeka, narrated her ordeal to newsmen, explaining that she had been using the hookup site called “coded site.” She stated, “I met the suspect a few months ago. I live in Enugu but visit Abuja for business purposes.”

“When I arrived, the suspect asked if I was afraid of death. He told me that if I cooperated, he wouldn’t hurt me like other girls. He mentioned his friend was outside and threatened to inject me with something if I made any wrong move,” the lady said of her experience with the Yahoo ritualist in the Abuja hotel.

“I pleaded with him, but he slapped me and told me to strip. I tried to reach the door, but it was locked, and he had the keys,” she recalled.

She further described how Efe used her dress to tie her hands, but when it wasn’t tight enough, he resorted to cellophane tape. “He turned up the TV volume very high and gagged my mouth with a handkerchief,” she said.

Efe then stole her phone, forced her thumb on the screen to unlock it, and demanded her bank account details. After finding no money in her account, he warned her to stay silent and left the room.

“I noticed movement outside the door and recognized the uniform of a hotel staff member. I managed to drag myself to the window and banged on it. Luckily, the staff noticed me, and I pointed in the direction the suspect had gone,” the lady recounted following her survival of the plot of the Abuja Yahoo ritualist.
