Head Coach of the national U-17 team, the Golden Eaglets, Nduka Ugbade, has showered praises on his wards for picking a ticket to the U-17 AFCON billed for Algeria.
Ugbade added that now that the mission of winning a ticket for the continental event has been achieved, it was time to go for the WAFU B trophy.
“We came into this competition to qualify for Algeria and now we are taking another step my pushing for the trophy. It has been a very competitive competition but the boys have been very good. We are going to work hard to get it right.
“Since the beginning, it has been one game at a time but now we go all the way to try and win so that we go to Algeria as champions from our region,” Ugbade said.
Golden Eaglets will confront their Burkinabes counterparts in the final of the U-17 WAFU Cup final.
The Eaglets defeated Cote D’Ivoire 3-1 in the semifinal on Tuesday.
Burkina Faso in the second semi-final pipped Ghana 1-0 to set up a final match in the ongoing U-17 WAFU B tourney with Golden Eaglets of Nigeria.

The final match will hold on Friday, 24 June, 2022 at the Cape Coast Stadium at 8:30 pm (Nigeria time) while the Third Place match between Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire holds 5:00 pm at the same Stadium.
