In article news published by Daily Post Newspaper, Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), has exposed the falseness concerning the rumors purporting that it has called off the proposed nationwide protest scheduled for Wednesday.
According to other sources, the NLC had emerged online alleging that the union will call off the planned nationwide protest after a meeting with government officials and decided to shelve the proposed protest. However, Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), has debunked the rumors viewed online platform.
In a statement on Tuesday night by its President, Comrade Joe Ajaero, said the Labour Congress has neither reconsidered nor suspended the planned nationwide mass protest on Wednesday. Also, urging Nigerians to ignore the rumor as the Nigeria Labour Congress will strive hard to ensure that government tackles hardship caused by the removal of fuel Subsidy.
Furthermore, the chairman of the Nigerian Labour Congress, Ajaero revealed that the union of the Nigerian Labour met with officials of the Nigerian government on Tuesday to further press its demands as the effect of the fuel subsidy removal worsens hardship across the nation.
According to him, the meeting ended in a deadlock as no agreement could be reached between Government and the Nigerian Labour Congress.
