The Anwar-Ul Islam College, Agege Old Students Association (A’Level) Class of ’87 recently inaugurated its maiden executive body. The association, formed in 2021, held its first reunion meeting on December 11 of the same year, with an interim body in place until the recent election.
Honourable Yinka Ogundimu, a former Lagos House of Assembly member, emerged as the President after an online election held on February 24. Other elected officials include O. Kolade as Vice President, Ikmat Gbadamosi as General Secretary, and Taiwo Odubeko as Assistant General Secretary.
S. Adeosun was elected as Financial Secretary, Rafiu Jempeji as Treasurer, Latifah Adeniran as Social Secretary, Adekunle Salami as Publicity Secretary, and Kayode Aturu as Welfare Officer. Mutiu Owolabi and Barrister B. Adeliyi emerged as Auditor and Legal Officer respectively, while Ibrahim Wahid is the Chief Whip.
Two members of the ’87 class also emerged as Diaspora Representatives: Saheed Gbadebo for UK/Europe and Bolaji Ajimotokan for North America.
The inauguration was officially carried out by Barrister Jide Bakare, and President Ogundimu pledged to unite the body further. He emphasized the importance of inclusivity, account opening, joining the national body, and giving back to the school. The new executive body aims to set a high standard to make the Class of ’87 (A’level) a standout in the national ACAOSA.
