The National Executive Committee of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has congratulated the Chairman of Sporting Lagos Professional Football Club, Mr Godwin Enakhena, for guiding the team to promotion from the Nigeria National League (NNL) to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
This was contained in a letter dated April 24, 2026, and signed by SWAN’s Secretary-General, Ikenna Okonkwo, ANIPR.
“This milestone is a testament to your visionary leadership, dedication, and unwavering commitment to the growth and development of football in Nigeria.
“Your strategic direction and passion for excellence have not only elevated Sporting Lagos, but have also inspired confidence in the future of club football in the country.
“The journey from the NNL to the NPFL is no small feat, and your success reflects the hard work, discipline, and resilience of the entire management, coaching crew, and players under your stewardship.
“It is our hope that this achievement will serve as a solid foundation for even greater accomplishments in the elite league,” the letter read.
The SWAN scribe further commended Enakhena for his efforts in “fostering professionalism and raising the standard of the game,” adding that the association looks forward to seeing Sporting Lagos make a strong and positive impact in the NPFL.
