NPFL: Rangers, Rivers United battle for title on final day

by Our Reporter

It is a big battle on the final day of the Nigeria Premier Football League with all to play for both at the top and bottom of the table.
Currently top of the table, Rangers International have to win their game away to Ikorodu City in Lagos with second placed Rivers United expected to win their game at home against Katsina United.
The title race remains delicately poised between Rangers International and Rivers United, setting up one of the most dramatic conclusions in recent NPFL history.
At the bottom of the table, the relegation battle is equally tense. Following Matchday 37, only Wikki Tourists and Bayelsa United have been officially relegated, while two additional teams are still expected to drop.
With clubs placed between ninth and 18th position still mathematically unsafe, several final-day fixtures have now come under intense scrutiny due to their potential impact on the outcome of the season.
Four former winners of the league, Remo Stars, Enyimba, Kano Pillars, Plateau United are all fighting to escape the drop with only two clubs already confirmed for the drop.
Shooting Stars will also hope to get a win in Minna against Niger Tornadoes to secure the last Continental ticket on the final day.
