A former Super Eagles star, Edema Fuludu, has called for a level playing ground for everyone seeking to lead the affairs of the NFF, rather than allowing a few individuals to continue monopolising the federation.
Fuludu said the latest “tsunami” was expected, given the pressure from different quarters following the downward trend of Nigerian football in recent times, which culminated in the failure of the women’s national team, the Super Falcons.
“It is expected, especially with all the pressure coming from every quarter after all that has happened to our football in recent times,” Fuludu said.
“There is also a need to have a level playing ground ahead of the next election. What I think should happen now is for people of integrity, who have the interest of the sport at heart, to come together as an interim committee to pave the way for an election that will usher in a new set of people to lead the affairs of the football federation.”
On talks about two-time NFF President Amaju Pinnick returning to lead the federation in an interim capacity, Eyimofe said such a move should remain a rumour, insisting that it would not produce the desired result.
