After their lacklustre start to the 2026/2027 Nigeria Premier Football League season, two-time CAF Champions League winners Enyimba continue to rise up the table with another 2-0 win at home against Plateau United.
So, they have taken their unbeaten run to three games after a goalless draw against Kano Pillars in Kano before 4-2 defeat of Shooting Stars to move up the table after spending the first four Match days at the bottom of the league table.
The two goals came one in each half with their opponent reduced to nine men later in the game.
Bendel Insurance on Sunday ended FC Barau’s unbeaten start to the campaign after a 4-1 win against the privately owned side while Doma United beat Warri Wolves 1-0.
It was another disappointing result for Shooting Stars, drawing goalless at home against Nasarawa United with Inter Lagos failing to secure their first game at home after forcing Katsina United to a 1-1 draw at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos.
In other games played on Sunday, defending champion of the league, Enugu Rangers, maintained their grip at the top of the table with a 3-1 defeat of Abia Warriors with Rivers United following closely in second position as they defeated Ikorodu City 2-0. Kwara United also beat Ranchers Bees 3-1 with the game between Niger Tornadoes and Kun Khalifat ending 1-0 in favour of the home team with Khalifat currently at the bottom of the table.
