A startling paternity revelation has rocked a community in Zimbabwe, where DNA tests have confirmed that Pastor Vhetu, the man who officiated Farai Hatirarami and Eunice Mururi’s wedding, is the biological father of the couple’s two children.
The incident, which unfolded in Chiredzi, involves Pastor Vhetu of the End Time Messages church, who has now been ordered by the court to pay child support following the revelation. The DNA test confirmed that Pastor Vhetu fathered two children with Eunice Mururi, the wife of Farai Hatirarami, whose wedding he had officiated.
The discovery has led to the collapse of Mururi’s marriage to Hatirarami, and she has since taken Pastor Vhetu to court, demanding $700 in monthly child support for their two children, aged 8 and 4.
In a surprising admission during the court proceedings, Pastor Vhetu acknowledged being the father of the children but pleaded for a reduced child support payment, citing financial difficulties. He claimed that his income primarily comes from tithes and offerings, which are often in the form of food hampers rather than cash, making it difficult for him to pay the full amount.
Vhetu’s lawyer, Farai Chauke, argued that the pastor does not receive a regular salary and could only afford to pay 150 ZiG per child. However, Magistrate Diana Musiiwa rejected this offer, calling it “insincere,” and ordered the pastor to pay $175 per month for both children.
The shocking paternity revelation and the subsequent court case have sent ripples through the local community, leaving many in disbelief as the details continue to unfold.
